Mike Young traveled to Orlando, FL last weekend to present his research on the shot put to the elite athletes at the USA Track & Field Podium Education Project. Mike has served as the biomechanist for America's elite shot putters for the past 7 years.

HPC Elite Team member Tiina Magi wins 2 events at Brother Jasper Invite

In her season opening performance, HPC Elite Team member Tiina Magi won the women's long jump and triple jump at the Brother Jasper Invitational. Her winning marks were 12.48 and 5.67 meters for the two events respectively.

Mike Young lectures on strength development at USATF Annual Meeting

HPC's Mike Young was one of only two coaches invited to speak at the 2009 USATF Annual Meeting Coaches development seminar in Indianapolis, IN. Mike's talk on "Strength Training across the Developmental Continuum for Speed-Power Athletes" was given on Saturday night to a packed room.

HPC's Mike Young is set to speak at the North Carolina Pitcher's Boot Camp hosted by K-Zone Academy in Apex, NC on November 21st. Mike will be speaking on developing rotational strength for pitchers.

Young and Allden teach USATF Level 1 Course in Richmond, VA

Mike Young and Andrew Allden made up half of the instructional staff for a USA Track and Field Level 1 Coaches Education school in Richmond, VA. Young instructed the Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Training Theory, and Throwing event curriculums and Allden taught Philosophy and Ethics, and the Endurance events curriculums.

Mike Young teaches USATF Level 1 Course

HPC's Mike Young traveled to Boca Raton, FL to teach the biomechanics, exercise physiology, training theory, sport psychology, jumps and throws curriculums at the USA Track & Field Coaches Education school on October 16-18. Mike will be instructing at another school next Friday through Sunday in Richmond, VA.

HPC’s Mike Young instructs USATF Level 1 School

Last weekend, HPC's Mike Young taught the USATF Level 1 Coaches Education school at Villanova University. Dr. Young joined the staff of Andrew Allden, Glen McAtee and Loren Seagrave. He taught the biomechanics, exercise physiology, training theory, and jumps curriculum.

LA Racing Dragons win Kaiser Permanente San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival

The HPC trained LA Racing Dragons, a dragon boat team out of Los Angeles, won the highest division of the Kaiser Permanente San Francisco International Dragon Boat Festival this past weekend. This festival is the largest festival in the United States. Congratulations to the LA Racing Dragons!


HPC Elite Team member Brandon Roulhac places 2nd in South Korea

HPC Elite Team member, Brandon Roulhac, completed his season on Friday with a 2nd place finish in the men's triple jump at the Colorful Daegu meeting in Daegu, South Korea. Brandon had a best jump of 16.44m and was only bested by Leevan Sands.

Brandon Roulhac places 6th at the IAAF World Athletics Final

HPC Elite Team member, Brandon Roulhac placed 6th at the IAAF World Athletics Final in the men's triple jump in Thessaloniki, Greece. This competition is the crown jewel in the IAAF European circuit and features only the best athletes in the world. Brandon's best jump was 16.73 meters.
