Alie Israel PRs for 2nd week in a row

HPC Elite Team member, Alie Israel, set a new personal best in an indoor short sprint for the second week in a row. Competing at TSU, Alie ran 7.52 in the 60m dash to turn in the fastest time in the preliminary races. Alie did not race in the finals. The previous week in Gainesville, FL she ran a personal best 6.94 for 55m.

Alonzo Moore opens season with a win

HPC Elite Team member, Alonzo Moore opened his 2009 indoor track campaign with a win at Hampton University. His winning mark of 15.57m was all the more impressive considering it was made from a short approach. Alonzo's win makes the HPC Elite Team undefeated in Jumps competition so far this year.

Alie Israel destroys 55m PR

HPC Elite Team member, Alie Israel, destroyed her old 55m personal record at the University of Florida Tom Jones Invitational in Gainesville. Alie's time of 6.94 in the semis won her heat, qualified her for the final and bested her old personal best of 7.10 set over 5 years ago. Alie did not race in the final as a precaution due to a slightly aggravated hamstring.

Nick Newman wins again

Despite having a hard time adjusting to the elevated runways at the University of Fresno, HPC Elite Team Member, Nick Newman won for the third consecutive competition to remain undefeated for the indoor season. His winning jump was 7.26m.

Tiina Magi and Nick Newman take home wins for HPC Elite

HPC Elite Team members, Nick Newman and Tiina Magi, took first place in meets on opposite sides of the country this weekend. Competing at the Gotham Cup Indoor Invitational at the Armory in NY City, Tiina won the women's triple jump with a best performance of 12.89m. This was a seasonal best for Tiina. On the other side of the country, Nick Newman did equally well; taking first in the long jump for the second straight week at the Northridge All-Comers meet with a best jump of 7.50m.

HPC Elite Tiina Magi wins triple jump at NY Met Invite

HPC Elite Team member, Tiina Magi, won the triple jump at the NY Metro Coaches Invite with a best performance of 12.40m.

HPC Elite Nick Newman wins Northridge All-Comers with PR Long Jump

HPC Elite Team Member, Nick Newman easily won the Northridge All-Comers meet in Northridge, CA with a winning performance of 7.60m. This jump was a big personal best for Nick. In addition to this big jump, Nick also produced several jumps over 7.40m.
