HPC Elite member Karjuan Williams places 5th at USATF National Championships

HPC Elite Team member, Karjuan Williams, placed 5th in the 800m at the USA Track & Field National Championships in Des Moines, IA. His time was 1:47.42.

HPC provides biomechanical analysis to elite throwers at USATF National Championships

For the 10th straight year, HPC is providing biomechanical analysis of the world's best shot putters competing at the USATF National Championships in Des Moines, IA. Data collected at the National Championships will be analyzed to assist the performance of America's top throwers.

HPC Elite Team’s Karjuan Williams advances to finals of USATF Championships

HPC Elite Team member Karjuan Williams won his prelim and semifinal round of the men's 800m to advance to the finals of the event. His preliminary time of 1:47.02 was the fastest of the round. In the semi-finals he ran 1:46.92 to handily win his section. Karjuan competes in the final of the 800m on Sunday afternoon.


HPC’s Allden and Young instruct coaches at Greensboro USATF Level 1 school

HPC's Andrew Allden and Mike Young instructed the coaches at the Greensboro USATF Level 1 school. Allden taught Philosophy and Ethics of Coaching as well as the Endurance Events curriculums. Young instructed the curriculums for Biomechanics; Exercise Physiology; Biomotor Development; Sprint, Hurdle and Relay events; and the Jumps.

HPC Elite Team’s Karjuan Williams places 5th at Adidas Grand Prix

Karjuan Williams ran at the New York Adidas Grand Prix meet in New York, NY and placed 5th with a time of 1:46.59 in the 800m. The time was his 3rd best of all-time and solidified his standing as one of the top 800m runners in the U.S.

HPC Elite Team’s Broadbent places 2nd at TX Greatest Athlete

HPC Elite's Eric Broadbent placed 2nd at the TX Greatest Athlete decathlon competition in Dallas, TX. Despite sweltering heat, Broadbent improved on his personal best decathlon score from just 3 weeks prior by posting a lifetime best of 7,316 points. His score ranks him in the top 20 decathletes in the U.S.

HPC Elite Team’s Tunde Ridley breaks club 100m record

HPC Elite Team's Babatunde Ridley competed in the 100m and long jump at the USATF West Region and Southern California Championships. His time of 10.36 established a new HPC Elite club record and placed him 6th in an elite field. Tunde also competed in the long jump, where he jumped 7.52m (24'8.25") which was good enough for 2nd place overall.

Osborne breaks HPC Elite 800m record at Music City Distance Carnival

HPC Elite's middle distance group was in action at the Music City Distance Carnival in Nashville, TN. Tanya Osborne highlighted the meet by breaking her club record in the 800m with a time of 2:11.75. Also in action were Eric Speer and Jeff Jackson who ran the 800m in 1:51.73 and 1:53.60 respectively.

HPC Elite member Eric Broadbent leads through day 1 of Texas Greatest Athlete Decathlon

HPC Elite member and decathlete, Eric Broadbent, leads the elite field at the Texas Greatest Athlete decathlon in Dallas, TX. Eric posted a first day score of 4190 with marks of:
  • 10.81 in the 100m;
  • 7.42m (24'4.75") in the long jump;
  • 12.04m in the shot put;
  • 2.13m (7');
  • 49.50 in the 400m
The first day total and the long jump mark are both personal bests for Broadbent.

Mike Young and Andrew Allden to instruct course at NC Police Academy

For the second time this year, HPC's Mike Young and Andrew Allden will lead a course on "Physical Preparedness for Law Enforcement Officers" at the North Carolina Justice Academy. The 8 hour course features an HPC developed curriculum to better prepare today's law enforcement officers for their physical screening tests as well as the demands of their job. The class will take place in Salemsburg, NC at the North Carolina Justice Academy on June 1, 2010.
