HPC Elite Karjuan Williams takes 2nd at Milrose Games

HPC Elite Karjuan Williams takes 2nd at Milrose Games

HPC Elite team member Karjuan Williams placed 2nd in the Mel Sheppard 600 yard run at the Milrose Games. His time of 1:12.23 placed 2nd behind Renny Quow of Trinidad.

HPC Elite member Carin Knight breaks club High Jump record

HPC Elite team member, Carin Knight, broke the existing club record in the high jump at the CNU Captain's Invitational in her first meet in an HPC Elite uniform. Her mark of 1.73m handily won the competition. Decathlete Eric Broadbent also competed on Saturday and took 2nd in the men's pole vault with a mark of 4.10m.

HPC Elite Eric Broadbent breaks club record in the pentathlon

HPC Elite's Eric Broadbent won the pentathlon at the Captain's Invitational at Christopher Newport University. Eric won 4 of 5 events with marks of 7.64 seconds in the 55m hurdles, 7.06m in the long jump, 13.25m in the shot put, 2.08m in the high jump, and 2:52.19 in the 1,000m. His final score was 4,056 which is the top mark in the U.S. for 2011. He won the competition handily and broke his own existing meet and facility record in the event from 2010 by over 200 points. HPC Elite's other multi-event athlete, Kelly Furr, was also in action at the Penn State National Invitational, scoring 3,028 in the women's pentathlon.

Mike Young teaches USTFCCCA course in Clearwater, FL

HPC's Mike Young taught the very first USTFCCCA Introduction to Track & Field course in Clearwater, FL. Over 100 coaches were in attendance for the inaugural course.

HPC Elite’s Joe Kindred breaks club record

HPC Elite team member broke the club's indoor record for the high jump at the Virginia Tech Hokie Invitational. His jump of 2.14m (7'0.5") broke the previous indoor best of 2.07m by John Strang in 2010.

HPC’s Mike Young teaches at Bowie State University

HPC's Mike Young instructed the USATF coaches education students at the Level 1 school in Bowie, MD on Jan 14-16. Young taught physiology; biomechanics; sprints, hurdles and relays; jumping events, and bio-motor development for speed-power athletes.
